Project Definition
A website should always be friendly, easy to navigate and obvious. The more
complex a site becomes, the harder this is to achieve. Consequently, I intend
to provide almost every page with a common toolbar that will offer help,
assistance, news and information. The implementation of this will either be as
a frame or a banner but that need not concern whoever does this project.

Logical Design Specification
All that I require are 5 graphics. Please be aware though that when doing
this project, you will need to produce some preliminary sketches for each
graphic and then mail them to me. I may
need to alter the sizes to fit the display frame I will be using.
- A metal riveted capital A structure. This may be an animated GIF with
electricity circles surging up the outer legs of the A to meet and discharge
as a ball at the apex of the A. Try to reflect the discharge against the metal
of the structure as it passes towards the top. If possible the GIF should also
be transparent; otherwise, place the A inside a granite box with a full
border. The size of the graphic should be 80×80 pixels.
- A granite slab (a la Babylonian Productions (Babylon 5)) with rough edges
and ends. This will hold the legend "Welcome to ..........", the name coming
when we finally agree on one for the web site. The letters will seem carved
into the stone. As a first stage, just produce the slab. If it's not too much
trouble, centre "Welcome to Amiganopolis" within it. The graphic should be
200×30 pixels, a transparent GIF with at least a 2 pixel transparent border.
- A 3D blank button with plenty of space for a label. The graphic should be
30×30 pixels, a transparent GIF with at least a 2 pixel transparent border.
- One of the above buttons with a graphic suggesting "Site Map" (compass,
signpost or similar symbol)
- One of the above buttons with a graphic suggesting "What's new"
Please note, light should always be assumed as coming from the north-east
(top right of the screen). Also, make sure to use the smallest palette
possible without sacrificing the quality or realism of the graphic. I have the
facilities to take normal GIFs and turn them into transparent and animated
GIFs if you can't - contact me if these
are required before you start drawing.
