Having one mailing list has been of great benefit to the JMS in our nascent state and great thanks go to Newtek and Daid Warner for accomodating us. However as we expand, projects start up and our membership (hopefully) grows, this will become an increasing problem.
We are looking for someone/people to work on a temporary project to everyday read through all the mail and produce a condensed version which can then be posted to the web site and read in the Forum. The mailing list will still operate but the summary will be for those who don't have time to read through 50 mails a day and will allow us to keep both those of a more serious mind and those who like to add some humour to the Society. Both are welcome but sometimes both are a bit intolerant of each other. This short term solution would help to accomodate both parties.
As a first stage deliverable, I would just like a suggestion of how individual mails and threads would be combined into articles. I would also like a section detailing other alternatives. In particular I would like to find out about us having our own newsgroup, possibly private. This may be more suitable for our needs.
