Volume1
Amiga Nexus Magazine Online

Dedicated  to explore and define aspects of
Amiga Gestalt, Culture
 and Philosophy.

Welcome to this first issue.  What in the world is a Gestalt you may ask. It's a German word which kind of describes a shape or appearance and its place or  position. "A physical, biological, psychological  or symbolic pattern of elements so unified that its properties cannot be derived from the sum of its parts" - American Heritage College Dictionary

It's also "a school of psychology who maintains that pychological, physiological, and behavioral phenomena are irreducible wholes rather than simple summations of discrete perceptual elements".

The word first turned up in relation to  the Amiga during a visit to Dave Haynie. We were looking for something that would synthesize the nature and character of the platform and its design. Gestalt really sounded archetypal, majestic and mysterious. Having found the word, we now have to make the sentence.

This is the purpose of aNeXuS. A means of exploring and connecting the links, ties and elements of the Amiga to a central, irreducible concept.
